A new state-of-the-art laparoscopic theatre was opened at Nucleus Healthcare in January 2011. The theatre has been meticulously designed to offer uncompromising care for our patients. The custom-built, fully digital theatre incorporates the latest surgical equipment and is the most technologically advanced in Wales.

Nucleus Healthcare can now provide a unique service within the field of gastroenterology with specialist surgeons and highly trained specialist nurses with unparalleled expertise in laparoscopic surgery. The hospital is accredited to provide day care and overnight stays for our patients.

We have extended all our services to include the following procedures:

• Gastric Band
• Gastrointestinal laparoscopic procedures such as:
• Nissen Fundoplication – an operation for hiatus hernias and heartburn
• Cholecystectomy – removal of gall bladder
• Inguinal and incisional hernias
• Haemorrhoid operations
