Oesophageal Manomerty Test
Oesophageal manometry is a test that measures the function of the valve that prevents reflux of acid in the lower oesophagus, food pipe.
The test can also tell us if your oesophagus is able to move food into your stomach normally.
The test is commonly given to people who have a variety of symptoms some of which can include difficulty or pain on swallowing, heartburn, chest pain and chronic cough or hoarseness.
Nucleus Healthcare is proud to have our own clinical gastrointestinal physiologist on site and a dedicated oesophageal and rectal manometry and pH study department.
Further details of the investigation may be found by looking at our oesophageal manometry and pH studies information page.
