Newport to get new private healthcare unitSouth Wales residents will soon be able to benefit from a new private healthcare centre, which will offer gastroenterology services, outpatient clinics, endoscopy and ultrasound.The unit, currently being built at Newport's Celtic Springs Business Park, will be the first specialist gastroenterology centre in the UK and will initially employ five consultant specialists and a team of nurses and support staff. According to the Western Mail, the first phase of the development should be completed by the end of November and will comprise two endoscopy theatres, ten en suite rooms, outpatient consulting rooms and laboratories, as well as facilities for teaching and training. Gastroenterology consultant specialist Dr Manny Srivastava said that the unit would provide "the very latest developments in the field of gastroenterology". "The park has the perfect environment for a centre such as ours and also has unrivalled location in terms of its proximity to the motorway network," he revealed.
