AWARD WINNING SPECIALIST CLINIC IS HERE TO HELP02.10.2008 - Western Counties ExpressNucleus Healthcare, a brand new state-of-the-art specialist gastroenterology clinic has been officially opened at Celtic Springs Business Park, Newport. The unit has a team of 30, consisting of 5 specialist consultants, experienced nurses and administrative staff. The Western Counties Express is delighted to announce Nucleus Healthcare as the recipient of the Healthcare Services Award for 2008. A proud unit manager Luba Srivastava said: “We are absolutely delighted and overwhelmed to have received such a prestigious award. It reflects the hard work and dedicated effort the staff have put in and will show people we are up and coming and have a lot to offer the healthcare industry.” Nucleus Healthcare is the only private gastroenterology unit in the UK, providing services such as capsule endoscopy, pH manometry studies and many more leading edge investigations. The 27,000 sq ft unit has 2 endoscopy theatres, 10 en suite rooms, dedicated out patient areas, teaching and research facilities over 2 floors. The unit deals with illnesses which patients often find embarrassing or difficult to talk about. Nucleus Healthcare is the UK's first clinic to specialise in this way and focuses on expert diagnosis and treatment of all problems relating to the digestive system. Unit manager, Luba Srivastava, whose husband, Dr Manny Srivastava founded Nucleus Healthcare and is clinical director, says: "What we've aimed to do is create a centre of excellence that is completely designed with the patient's needs in mind. "We're fully aware that we're dealing with subjects that people might not want to talk about openly.
