Consultant Radiologist

Qualified from the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1988. Following training in South Wales, Bristol and Paris he became a Consultant Radiologist in Singleton Hospital, Swansea in 1996. In 2001, he was appointed Consultant Gastrointestinal Radiologist at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff. He is the UK pioneer of endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) guided biopsy and has published widely in this field, gaining an MD from Cardiff University in 2006. He has lectured extensively in the UK, Europe and USA and has helped numerous other UK and European centres develop EUS services. Numerous audits of his clinical work have been published in peer review journals. He sits on the Executive Committee of the British Society of Gastrointestinal and Abdominal Radiologists.

As well as providing a comprehensive thoracic and abdominal imaging service including Barium studies, ultrasound , CT, MRI and endoscopic ultrasound, he also performs ERCP for the endoscopic removal of bile duct stones and relief of jaundice.
